Tax Transparency - Mazars' response to the debate
Increasingly, tax is becoming a moral issue – and one that is beginning to be taken very seriously by many companies. Consequently, approaches to tax advice are changing. Over the last year, we’ve seen many individuals and business taking a more holistic approach to their tax affairs.
At Mazars, we are addressing the issue of Tax Transparency head on. In this document, we concentrate on two key areas that we believe have not been fully addressed to date. The first is providing guidance to business on whether, and how, they should reconcile and align their tax strategy with their own values and corporate responsibilities. The second is a suggestion to repair the perceived reputation of UK tax advisers. We challenge our own profession, which many will be surprised to know is not totally regulated, to help us develop a Trusted Tax Adviser Charter.
